MARPISSA
Marpissa lies about 15 km away from Parikia. It is a picturesque village built amphitheatrically on a low hill. Marpissa was named after the daughter of the ancient river-god Evinos and the ancient name of the village was Tsibidos. To the east, rises Kefalos hill at the height of 200m with the church of Agios Antonios upon it, were we enjoyed a soft sunset and it should be on your itenerary.

Also, there, you can see the relics of the Venetian Castle, which was built on the 15th century. According to history it is that Castle, the Venetian Monarch Somarippas, defended unsuccessfully against the Turk Barbarossa, who destroyed it.
